“From here AInstein”: ChatGPT robot in classes in Cyprus

High school students in Cyprus, with the help of their teachers, have developed a prototype AI-powered ChatGPT robot to improve classroom learning.

Named AInstein (AI + Einstein), a robot created by the three schools of Pascal in Cyprus. he is the size of a small adult.

It also runs on ChatGPT, a chatbot developed by the American company OpenAI and maintained by Microsoft Corp MSFT.O. For the “face” the robot has one screenwho imitates human features by blinking his eyes and frowning.

He can joke with the students, even teaching them Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity, while at the same time he tells the students that he loves to read science books and spend his free time with his violin.

Richard Erkov, a 16-year-old student and lead AI brain developer, said that AI is poised for exponential improvement.

“It can help in many areas of life, such as education and medicine,” Yerkov told Reuters. Another student, Vladimir Baranov, called the technology “incredible.”

“The robot imitates human thinking, reacts like people, reacts like people. It’s not very difficult yet. But it’s getting there,” he said.

Professors say the ultimate goal of Einstein is to integrate it into teaching.

“It’s a very interactive experience. Students can ask him questions, he can answer, and he can even help teachers with the course,” said Professor and Program Director Elpidoforos Anastasiou.

“Our experience with AInstein shows us that artificial intelligence is not something to be afraid of,” the program participants said.

In the end, “Einstein” himself answers whether we should be afraid of technology.

“Humans are the ones who create and control artificial intelligence, and we must ensure that its development and application will serve the development of mankind. Therefore, we should not be afraid of artificial intelligence, but approach it with caution and responsible thinking.”
