In a brief news conference with New York Police Chief Kichant Sewell, Adams warned that the city’s 55,000 police officers are on high alert ahead of Trump’s arrival in New York on Monday afternoon and his appearance before a judge, scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.

“As we look at the potential for violence in our city tomorrow, our message is clear and simple: take control,” Adams said.

Several cars left Donald Trump’s Florida home on Monday, heading to New York, where he is expected to face criminal charges.
