FCSB have officially unveiled their new coach, Cypriot Elias Charalambous, talking about what he has found in the squad, as well as how the relationship is developing with Gigi Becali, the boss of the Romanian vice-champions.

FCSB will play Sepsi on Monday and the new coach was unveiled on Sunday.

Charalambous says, among other things, that he found very good conditions in the Bucharest group, that he took the best from the coaches he worked with in his career and that he only spoke for 10 minutes with boss Gigi Becali.

“I am glad to come to this club, I will give everything to make everything go as well as possible. Interest arose a few weeks ago. Before attracting a coach, appointing someone, the management asks which coach will suit the team. It touched me, that’s why I’m here.

I worked with Fernando Santos, took the best, what I liked, worked with Spanish and Portuguese coaches. The philosophy is to have a quick transition and control the game.

Pintilii is staffed, I met a lot of great people here, the infrastructure is good. I like working with the staff every day, knowing everything about the opponents, I watched a lot of matches.

I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of the team. I think we will have a tough game against Sepsi, but I hope we can get three points. I played in Vaslui, I have friends here, and everyone said good things to me. I was glad to receive the offer” – Elias Charalambousat the press conference, quoted by News.ro.

New coach from FCSB, meeting only 10 minutes with Gigi Bekali

The Cypriot technician stated that he met with Gigi Bekali only once, for ten minutes.

“He didn’t call me (Nor Gigi Bekali), he didn’t come to practice. There is no reason to talk only about that, I want to talk about football. Tomorrow we need the fans to win three points,” he concluded Charalambous.

The match between Sepsi and FCSB will take place on Monday at 20:30, the broadcast of the match can be watched on Digisport, Orange Sport and Telekom Sport.
