These 160 tanks represent about half of the 300 tanks that Ukraine will require for the planned spring-summer counteroffensive.

Pistorius said that Poland and its allies will send two Leopard-2 battalions (a total of 60 tanks) to Kyiv.

According to him, four battalions of 100 Leopard-1 tanks can be delivered by the end of the year.

“I don’t see a scenario when it would be possible to send additional Leopards to Ukraine, other than what was announced. Our reserves, like those of other countries, are limited,” he said.

The Leopard 2 battle tanks promised by Germany for Ukraine should be delivered at the beginning of April, Pistorius said on January 26, Deutsche Welle quotes.

On February 26, Pistorius said that NATO could supply Ukraine with 62 German-made Leopard 2 main battle tanks.
