ANPC inspected 40 business entities from the Old Center, imposing fines in the amount of 177,000 lei. “The Regional Commissioner for Consumer Rights Protection of the Bucharest-Ilfov Region (CRPCR) conducted a number of control actions against economic entities working in the field of public catering, hotels, as well as shops in the most famous district of the capital – the Old Center. Thus, CRPCR Bucharest-Ilfov officials checked 40 places,” ANPC said in a press release on Saturday.

According to the document, by the time of sending this news, the commissioners had applied 18 fines for violations amounting to 177,000 lei, 6 warnings and ordered to permanently stop the sale of non-compliant products for a total amount of about 19,000 lei.

An order was also issued to temporarily suspend the provision of services until the deficiencies are eliminated to 14 economic entities.

According to ANPC, the locations that have temporarily stopped working are:

  • Arkay Capital SRL (Old Habits Pub)
  • Expert Data PVD SRL (Tag Aperitivo)

ANPC said that among the deviations found were: the use of inappropriate storage facilities, the walls of which were covered with infiltrations and mould; the presence of insects (flies, beetles) in the food block; using worn kitchen utensils and wire sponges for dishes; preliminary boiling of pasta before use and storage in refrigeration units; degree of unhygienic floor, unhygienic walls with broken/cracked tiles, ceiling with peeling paint.

According to the control results, the following were also found: the use of unsanitized refrigerating units, with ice deposits, peeling paint, large areas of rust, worn, broken connections; use of unhygienic food preparation equipment with deposits of burnt fat; using a cooking vessel with burnt and worn areas; non-compliance with the temperature regime specified by the manufacturer; storage of products directly on the pavement; sale of perfumes that contained prohibited substances in the list of ingredients, namely butylphenyl methylpropional, as well as other violations.

“So far, the locations: Les Bourgeois and Aubergine InternaĊ£ional SRL (Aubergine) have quickly remedied the sanctioned deficiencies, a fact noted by the commissioners’ teams during the re-inspection,” the ANPC also reported:
