The medical crisis is not a specific Romanian problem, but manifests itself at the level of the entire European Union, and in Romania “concrete measures” have been taken to solve this crisis and encourage the production and marketing of medicines on the Romanian market, – said the Minister of Health, Alexandru Rafila, in Timisoara on Thursday.

“Romania survived the flu season much better than the vast majority of European countries, and this shortage of anti-thermic and antiviral drugs was extremely reduced, such products were in sufficient quantity, with very little syncope, but we managed to solve We have a very good partnership both with industry as well as with the College of Pharmacists, and we hope that our proposed measures to regulate the reimbursement tax and equalize the prices of generic drugs, cheap drugs, will be adopted. There are answers that will undoubtedly lead to the presence of these products on the Romanian market,” Alexandru Rafila said at a press conference in Timisoara, according to Agerpres.

On the other hand, Rafila emphasized that she does not intend to ban access to antibiotics, but wants patients to receive antibiotics only when necessary, as long as necessary and with the antibiotic that is needed: “This principle makes the appearance of multi-resistant bacteria, which cause serious infections, especially in hospitals and which pose a risk to life, must be controlled if we have a consistent policy on the use of antibiotics. (…) The prescription should be issued by the doctor, not at the insistence of the patient, and pharmacies should understand, in turn, that they should not issue these drugs other than by prescription.”
