According to the report, applications with embedded GPT are better suited for tasks such as translation, classification, creative writing, and computer code generation.

Other professions considered “exposed” are public relations specialists, court reporters, and blockchain technology specialists.

On the other hand, occupations that will be least affected by technology are chefs, motorcycle mechanics, and workers in oil and gas companies.

The researchers didn’t predict whether jobs would actually be lost, said Matt Bean, an assistant professor at the University of California at Santa Barbara who studies the impact of technology on the labor market and was not involved in the study.

“The report also doesn’t provide an accurate forecast of what will change in the work environment and when,” he added.

Bean noted that the real problem lies with companies, schools and politicians, who in the future will have to help people adapt.

However, other recent studies have shown that AI can significantly save time and produce better results than humans.

In an MIT experiment that focused on college-educated professionals, the researchers were divided into two groups.

On the one hand, employees in trade, in the field of personnel management worked without the help of ChatGPT, and on the other hand, they used it. Both groups had to turn in a specific written assignment on the same topic.

Ultimately, those with access to ChatGPT completed their tasks 10 minutes faster. External readers who rated the quality of these tasks said that the AI ​​workers did better than the other group.
