Ana Morodan, one of Romania’s most famous bloggers, was arrested on Tuesday night after she was stopped twice in traffic within hours and allegedly caught driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, has gone on trial.

The court placed the “digital countess” detained for 24 hours under judicial control for 60 days.

“I have never used and will never use drugs”

She denied driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, saying her “only mistake” was driving on a suspended license.

• “Indeed, I made a mistake and drove without a license. I have never used and do not use drugs. I have a prescription from a doctor that contains benzothamine,” said Ana Morodan.

She said she took sleeping pills because she has insomnia.

It will be recalled that Ana Morodan was detained by the police after she did not stop at police signals in a traffic jam, then hit two cars and refused to pass a test for the presence of alcohol and psychoactive substances.

On Wednesday night, she was pulled over twice in traffic within a few hours and had her license revoked after the first incident. The first time she was stopped in a traffic jam around 4:00 p.m., and the second time around 10:00 p.m.

Police then asked her to undergo a drug and alcohol test, but Ana Morodan reportedly refused. She was taken to INML, but they allegedly refused to take biological samples there as well.

Left without a license after hitting two cars

What is officially reported by the traffic police in a press release:

• “On March 28, the police brigades of the traffic police during the performance of official duties in sector 1 gave a regular stop signal to a vehicle driven by a woman.
• The driver of the vehicle did not comply, she continued driving, after which she collided with two cars.
• As a result of the traffic accident, only material damage was caused.
• Having established the identity of the driver, the police asked her to undergo an examination both for the presence of alcohol in the exhaled air and for the preliminary determination of the presence of psychoactive substances in the body with the help of equipment provided by the Road Traffic Brigade, but she refused.
• In this regard, the police took the person to the headquarters of the INML to take biological samples, where he refused this time as well.
• Criminal proceedings have been opened in the case under the article “refusal or evasion of taking biological samples”.

A few hours later, he got behind the wheel again

• At the same time, on the same day, around 10:20 p.m., traffic police teams, carrying out measures to regulate traffic on the street in sector 1, stopped a car driven by a woman.
• Having identified the person, they checked the legal situation regarding the right to drive and found that the woman appeared with a driver’s license that had been revoked as a result of criminal proceedings conducted in accordance with the provisions of Art. . 337 of the Criminal Code.
• The police also conducted a check with the Alcooltest device, which showed up to 0.40 mg/l of pure alcohol in exhaled air.
• After preliminary testing with the DrugTest device, the presence of psychoactive substances in the body was detected.
• In this regard, the driver of the vehicle was taken to the headquarters of the National Police for taking biological samples, and criminal proceedings have been opened in the case for the commission of offenses provided for in Art. 335 par. 2 and 336 p. 2 of the Criminal Code.
• On the basis of the evidence provided in the case, the criminal investigation bodies of the highway brigade chose to hold the woman in custody for 24 hours with delivery to the prosecutor’s office of the 1st district court for the selection of a preventive measure.
