The same bill removes many categories of barriers to participation in elections, which mainly concerned persons who had relations with the state and who were required to resign within a reasonable period of time before the elections. The bill’s provision opens a window for the completion of the ASEP-approved recruitment process, removing the ongoing practice of pre-election recruitment freezes. It is also planned to create a special area for receiving and waiting for disabled people at polling stations to make it easier to vote.

The Municipality of Athens is expected to hire the largest number of municipal police officers for 181 positions. 80 seats are allocated to the Municipality of Thessaloniki, 77 to the Municipality of Piraeus, 32 to the Municipality of Chania, 30 to the Municipality of Heraklion, Crete, 20 to the Municipality of Thermi, 16 to the Municipality of Acharna, 15 to the Municipality.
