A new poll shows that most Americans do not want to see former President Donald Trump re-elected to the White House as he faces possible impeachment in Manhattan. A Marist poll released Monday shows that nearly 61 percent of adults do not want Trump to become president again. 38% of respondents say they would like four more years with Trump at the helm, writes The New York Post.

The poll was conducted March 20-23, a week in which many of the charges against Donald Trump are expected to be brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg in connection with a $130,000 payment to porn star Stormy Daniels.

The poll found that 56 percent of adults surveyed believe there are multiple criminal investigations against Trump, including the Bragg case, as well as the Georgia election meddling probe and federal probes into his handling of classified documents and his involvement in the 2021 affair. 46% think the former president did something illegal, 29% think he did something unethical but not illegal, and 23% say he did nothing wrong.

A majority of registered Democrats polled, 89 percent, and a majority of independents, 64 percent, oppose Trump becoming president again. By contrast, 76 percent of registered Republicans said they want Trump re-elected president in 2024. 81 percent of former Trump voters said they would still support the 45th president in 2024, despite possible impeachment.
