On Sunday, a drone triggered an explosion in the center of a Russian city, as a result of which two people were injured and three residential buildings were damaged, the official TASS news agency reported, citing a police source and an emergency services employee.

“The reason for the explosion in the Tula region (western Russia) was a tactical reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV),” a law enforcement source told TASS.

The explosion occurred in the center of the city of Kireyevsk, located approximately 220 kilometers south of the capital Moscow.

“The explosion occurred at 15:19. Two victims born in 2002 and 2006 have shrapnel injuries. Emergency services are working on the spot,” a representative of the local emergency service told TASS.

“There is a crater. This explosion happened in the center of the city,” he added.
