Former US President Donald Trump warned Friday of “possible death and destruction” if he is indicted for allegedly buying former porn actress Stormy Daniels’ silence before the 2016 election.

In a message published this morning on the Truth Social social network, currently the only one he actively uses, Donald Trump insists that the accusation against him “will be catastrophic for our country”, reports Agerpres with reference to the EFE agency.

According to the former Republican president, who is believed to be in Florida at his Mar-a-Lago residence, “only a psychopath who really hates the United States” would seek his indictment, referring to US Attorney Alvin Bragg, who is African-American. The Democratic magistrate who opened the case in which judges are expected to rule — as early as next week — on whether to continue the investigation and indict the former White House leader.

If indicted, New York judges must decide whether it will be for perjury or for violating campaign finance laws.

According to the indictment, before the 2016 presidential election, Donald Trump offered former porn star Stormy Daniels $130,000 to keep quiet about their alleged relationship.
