Increased road safety measures are planned for the entire territory network Greek police on the eve of her celebration March 25in the period from March 24 to 26, 2023, in order to ensure the safe movement of citizens and prevent traffic accidents.

The action plan includes

• Increased traffic rules at the entrances to and exits from large urban centers where there is heavy traffic.

• strengthened traffic measures in places of mass passenger traffic (airports, ports, train stations, etc.), as well as in sections of the road network where the frequency of traffic accidents is noted,

• development of events and special promotions within the city, as well as in places where, due to festive events, there is an increased traffic of road users,

• Establishment of general and special traffic officers (especially for checking dangerous violations such as speeding, drunk driving, using a mobile phone while driving, not using a protective helmet – seat belt, illegal overtaking and crossing the road); double dividing line, etc. and so on.),

• cooperation and coordination with all jointly competent Agencies – Services around the clock, for immediate response and resolution of any emerging problems and

• informing citizens through the competent communication services of the Chamber in any case, when there is a need to widely inform the population about the presence of traffic jams and other problems.

It is noted that throughout the implementation of the measures, both the personnel and the means of the Greek police, mainly the traffic police, will be in high operational readiness. In particular, patrol cars, motorcycles and ordinary vehicles with appropriate personnel and equipment will be provided to effectively guard the country’s road network.

As a result, drivers are required.

• receive information about the weather and the state of the road network,

• be especially careful while driving,

• conscientiously comply with the provisions of the traffic rules,

• drive at low speeds to better control your vehicle,

• in any case, follow the instructions of the traffic police.

Ban on the movement of trucks over 3.5 tons during the celebration of March 25

In addition to the above measures, and for safer vehicle traffic and improved traffic during the March 25 celebration period, in addition to the traffic relief measures to be taken locally, the ban on the movement of trucks with the maximum permissible weight will also be applied more 3.5 tons.

In particular, for outbound traffic, the traffic ban for trucks will be in effect on Friday, March 24, 2023, from 16:00 to 21:00 and on Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 8:00 to 13:00.

For input current, the ban will be in effect from Sunday, March 26, 2023 from 15:00 to 21:00.
