Yesterday on Tuesday (21.03) the Police of the Under-Directorate for the Protection of Minors of the Security Directorate of Attica proceeded to arrest the coach of a sports club, who is accused of committing sexual acts against underage girls.

This was preceded by an investigation within the framework of the preliminary investigation, from which it turned out that the detainee, at least from 2009 to 2020, approached his underage students aged 12 to 16 and, extolling their abilities in sports, urged them to join the competitive section so that they had lengthy and mostly individual workouts with him. Subsequently, he performed sexual acts on minors either in the gym or at his home.

The created case was transferred to the prosecutor’s office of Athens, and the case was transferred to the investigator, from where the corresponding arrest warrant was issued.

During a search conducted at his home and in the seized cars, as well as at the school, three mobile phones, two tablets, three laptops, a hard drive and a memory card were found and seized.

At the moment, it is established that the detainee committed the above sexual acts against at least five girls who have reached the age of majority, while his involvement in other such acts is being investigated.
