American tycoon Rupert Murdoch, known for owning several conservative media channels in the United States and other countries, got engaged for the fifth time on Monday at the age of 92, Reuters reports.

Ann Leslie Smith, a former San Francisco police chaplain, became Murdoch’s new chosen one.

This was revealed by a spokesman for the billionaire, whose new engagement follows his divorce from actress and model Geri Hall, which was finalized last August.

Murdoch said in an interview with the NY Post, one of the publications he owns, that he first met Smith, 66, in September at his vineyard in Bel Air, California.

Smith is a widow who was previously married to Chester Smith, a country singer who also worked in radio and television.

Rupert Murdoch says he’s fallen in love again

“I was very nervous. I was afraid of falling in love, but I knew it would be the last time. It would be nice to be. I’m happy,” Murdoch told the NY Post.

The two are set to get married this summer. For Murdoch, this will be the fifth marriage.

The marriage is unlikely to change in any way the ownership structure of companies Murdoch owns or has stakes in, including Fox Corp, the parent company of conservative broadcaster Fox News, and News Corp.

Fox is currently defending itself against a defamation lawsuit filed by Dominion Voting Systems, which accuses the broadcaster of spreading false information about alleged fraud in the November 2020 US presidential election.
