Their initiative is part of the explosion of sales of Wagner products in Russia, writes independent researcher and analyst Chris Owen with reference to the independent Russian Telegram channel.

According to the TV channel “Attention, Moscow”, the furniture makers of the Krylat district in the west of Moscow, “inspired by the mercenaries and advertising of Wagner’s PMC”, began to “produce sledgehammers for home decoration.”

Wagner’s sledgehammer became a well-known symbol of the organization after mercenaries used it to torture and execute a Syrian prisoner in 2017, and then began using it as a method to execute defectors from the company, which now operates in Ukraine.

According to the manufacturers, they “will fit perfectly into loft-style interiors.” The sledgehammer has a wooden handle and an iron head weighing 7 kg. Sellers say that they “recently started selling sledgehammers, but the demand is high.”

The initiative comes amid a boom in the availability of Wagner merchandise, including key chains, hoodies, patches, flags, mugs and even carved backgammon sets.
