On Friday evening, a car that was part of a train carrying military equipment derailed near a railway station in Brasov district. Railway traffic is carried out on one line, reports News.ro.
“This evening, around 9:45 p.m., the Regional Office of the Brasov Transport Police was alerted that near the CFR Beia station in Brasov county, the penultimate car of a train with military vehicles derailed approximately 12 cm, a train of 11 cars. The policemen who went to the scene found that the reports were confirmed, as a result of this incident no one was injured. At the moment, there is only one railway line, but soon the carriage will be returned to the line and the railway traffic will be restored,” representatives of the Brasov District Police Inspectorate told News.ro.
The moment of derailment was caught by a driver who stopped at a railway crossing. In the pictures published on social networks, it can be seen that there are transporters intended for the army on the platforms of the cars. It appears that the vehicles did not fall from the platforms they were secured to when the train derailed.
Law enforcement officers are currently conducting investigations to establish the circumstances of the incident.
The derailment of a train carrying military equipment comes days after a passenger train hit a freight train in Rosioria de Vede, causing a train carrying Ford cars to derail.
