American actor Lance Reddick, best known for The Wire, died today at the age of 60, according to his agent.
The actor, Keanu Reeves’ co-star on the action series John Wick, has been found dead at his home in the Studio City area of Los Angeles, TMZ reports.
Reddick died “in the morning” and the cause of death was “pathological,” his agent Mia Hansen explained. “Lance will be greatly missed,” he added.
Reddick rose to fame in Hollywood in 2000 with the HBO series Oz, where he played a detective who infiltrated a prison to take down a drug ring but quickly became addicted himself. His star shone in The Wire, often referred to as one of the greatest television series of all time. It followed stories of a group of cops fighting Baltimore’s gangs. Lance Reddick played Cedric Daniels, a conscientious idealistic cop.
