Agia Paraskevi: two people handcuffed for attempted car theft

Two foreigners, aged 40 and 41, were arrested as part of a car fair early Wednesday morning in Cholargos by the Immediate Action Police (Di.AS. Team) for attempted theft.

In particular, shortly before the arrest, the defendants tried to steal a car in Agia Paraskevi. Before completing their act, they were spotted by the owner of the vehicle, so they fled in their car and an immediate action call center was called.

The fleeing DI.AS police teams, after searches, were able to find the car in which the accused were traveling in the Cholargos area a little later, immobilized them and took them to the security department of Agia Paraskevi, where they were identified as the perpetrators of the above criminal act.

During a search of their car, hacking tools (a ratchet, screwdrivers, a flashlight, gloves) were found and seized.

In addition, the 40-year-old detainee had pending judgments for theft, for which he was sentenced to a total prison term of six years and two months.

The detainees were taken to the criminal prosecutor’s office of Athens, the investigation of their involvement in other criminal acts continues.
