Incidents erupted in the center of Athens, bringing a major demonstration held as part of the general strike for the railway accident in Tempe.

The tension continued at the university, where hooligans caused material damage to shops, cars and trash cans.

The police made 10 arrests, six during preliminary checks and four in connection with incidents.

Gerovasili’s car was smashed

Damage to her car Olgas Gerovasilis through the fault of unknown persons, while the policeman accompanying her received minor injuries. The attack took place at a time when episodes in the constitutionafter a rally over the train derailment in Tempe.

The policeman driving the car was parked at the intersection of Bucharest and Academy streets. According to information, unidentified people broke the windows of the vehicle, as a result of which the driver, a police officer, was slightly wounded in the forehead and, as a precautionary measure, went to the Parliament clinic.

Ms Gerovasili was not present during the incident.


Episodes in Thessaloniki

The incidents occurred during the demonstration and in Thessaloniki. Hooded they invaded the Mudo Noervo occupationwhich was recently evacuated from EL.AS.

Mass demonstration

Thousands of demonstrators responded to the call of the trade unions, as well as PAME, and from 11:00 people came in waves to Klatmonos Square, to the Propylaea, and also directly to Syntagma Square.

PAME protesters occupied most of the university and held a march. Passing by Parliament, they made their way to the Hellenic Train offices in Syngrou.

The members of SYRIZA moved towards the Propylaea.

Civil servants responded to the call of ADEDY, as well as OLME, students and left-wing organizations that gathered in Klatmonos Square.

Shortly before 13:00, the crowd held a peaceful demonstration in front of the parliament building. “Their profits, our dead, down with the murderous government” and “they talk about profits and losses, we talk about human lives” were some of the slogans that were heard.

At the end of this “chain” were members of the collectives and the extra-parliamentary left, who called for a meeting in Hauteyi.
