
On Tuesday afternoon (March 14), a large-scale anti-drug police operation was carried out in the area of Agia Varvara in the district of Agia Varvara by the Narcotics Sub-Directorate of the Attica Security Authority.
It was preceded by the proper use of information, from the analysis of which the activities of drug traffickers in the wider area of Agia Varvara were established.
Subsequently, a police operation was organized and carried out, which also involved police officers from the Attica Police Operations Directorate, OPKE. as well as a police dog.
Eight people (seven men and one woman) were detained in connection with this, and a criminal case was initiated against them for violating drug laws. It is noted that of the above, one person tried to avoid detention by jumping from a balcony, as a result of which he injured his knee.
Searches followed in 8 houses, where they were found and seized:
- 51.2 grams of cocaine
- 431 grams of raw cannabis
- 4 precise scales,
- lots of nylon bags,
- 4,148.5 euros and 24 US dollars,
- 15 mobile phones,
- 3 image recorders,
- 6 CCTV cameras and
- 5 TVs.
The detainees were taken to the competent prosecutor’s office, and the wounded man was taken to the hospital, where he is being treated.
