On Tuesday afternoon (March 14), a large-scale anti-drug police operation was carried out in the area of ​​Agia Varvara in the district of Agia Varvara by the Narcotics Sub-Directorate of the Attica Security Authority.

It was preceded by the proper use of information, from the analysis of which the activities of drug traffickers in the wider area of ​​Agia Varvara were established.

Subsequently, a police operation was organized and carried out, which also involved police officers from the Attica Police Operations Directorate, OPKE. as well as a police dog.

Eight people (seven men and one woman) were detained in connection with this, and a criminal case was initiated against them for violating drug laws. It is noted that of the above, one person tried to avoid detention by jumping from a balcony, as a result of which he injured his knee.

Searches followed in 8 houses, where they were found and seized:

• 51.2 grams of cocaine
• 431 grams of raw cannabis
• 4 precise scales,
• lots of nylon bags,
• 4,148.5 euros and 24 US dollars,
• 15 mobile phones,
• 3 image recorders,
• 6 CCTV cameras and
• 5 TVs.

The detainees were taken to the competent prosecutor’s office, and the wounded man was taken to the hospital, where he is being treated.
