PSD President Marcel Cholaku did not rule out on Wednesday the possibility of running for the post of president together with Nicolae Chuke for the position of prime minister, writes Agerpres.
On Digi 24, Marcel Čolaka was asked if he would run for president and prime minister in tandem with Nicolae Chuke in an alliance.
“It’s a scenario, it’s not out of the question, but it’s not an easy scenario. The parties are unlikely to put up with the absence of a candidate. In the Social Democratic Party, we have changed the rules for appointing a candidate and our approach is much more correct. Prices remain a priority for us,” he said.
He added that PSD and PNL had no discussions about single candidates.
“I am of the opinion that the best solution is a coalition between the Social Democratic Party and the PNL, I see cooperation from 2024. How we plan it, how we will conduct discussions, we will see in the next period. Now we have to live up to the expectations of the Romanians. If you go alone, it is difficult to create a coalition. Politics also has its limits. If we create a political alliance, I think that in 2024 we will have a common future from the point of view of the parliamentary majority,” Çolaku said.
