Two-wheeled police detained a 48-year-old man who is accused of pouring flammable and caustic liquid over his 59-year-old roommate and threatening to burn her while holding a lighter.

The incident was announced to have taken place in Tumpa, Thessaloniki.

A 59-year-old man is treated safely in a city hospital, while, as it became known, the accused, who forbade the woman to leave the apartment, allegedly used turpentine and alcohol.

So far, the causes of the incident have not been clarified.

The detainee was taken to the prosecutor’s office to open a criminal case.
