Marc-Andre ter Stegen, the first goalkeeper in La Liga history to go 19 matches without conceding a goal in 25 matches

Javi Hernandez’s side are on course for another La Liga title and the numbers prove the Camp Nou side are having an exceptional season.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen is one of the club’s most important players and the German goalkeeper also set a unique record in La Liga history with a match won by Barcelona in Bilbao.

This season, the German played 19 matches without conceding goals, and this is in just 25 stages. This is something unique to the Spanish championship and it will also be very difficult to achieve the record.

The previous record belonged to Paco Liano (Deportivo La Coruña), who managed 18 saves in the 1993/94 season.

Barcelona currently have a 9-point lead over Real Madrid, and they will meet head-to-head at Camp Nou in the next round (March 19).

If successful, the Catalans will almost certainly win the title, given that Real are also competing in the UEFA Champions League, where they qualify for the quarter-finals.
