
Romania won two silver medals at the European Throwing Cup: Bianca Gelber (hammer throw) and Alin Firfirique (discus throw) shone at the competition held in Leiria (Portugal).
Bianka’s best throw was 71.52 meters.
The podium was completed by Sarah Fantini (gold, 73.26 m, the Italian is the world leader this season) and Dane Katrin Jacobsen (bronze, 71.08 m).
Also on Sunday, Denys Bot took 6th place in the javelin throw with the best personal result of the season (73.59 m).
The first medal for Romania was won by Alin Firfirike in the discus throw on Saturday, the “tricolor” team showed the best personal result of the season: 63.78 m.
“Gold” was won by Slovenian Christian Cech (68.30 m, the best world record of the year), and “bronze” by Croatian Martin Markovic (62.20 m).
