The general mayor of the capital, Nikušor Dan, is convinced that the next winter in Bucharest will be better in terms of heating, and explained that there are problems on the trunk network, where losses occur, but projects with European funds are in the works that will solve the situation.
On Saturday, on the air of the Insider Politic program on Prima TV, Nikusor Den explained that there are currently problems in the capital’s heating network between CET and heating points.
“We have a network with about 1,000 km of trunk network, and this is where the biggest losses are. This means between CET and heat points. After that, we have the so-called secondary network, which is located between thermal points and blocks.
Here the damage is much smaller and there are repairs that are being made. But the big problem is in the main network. There are 100 on this trunk network of 1,000 km that are newer than 30 years, so 100 have been done in 30 years. I asked for the data for the last seven years. Gabriela Firea’s average was somewhere between 12 and 15 kilometers per year,” said Nikusor Dan.
The mayor admitted that the plan for this year was not fulfilled.
“Next winter will be better, much better”
“Our goal was to do 50 a year. We did not achieve our goal (…) 2021 somehow followed inertia. All the work was entrusted to one company “Energetika”, our company, which is working, but did not have the opportunity to serve several construction sites.
And in 2021, we barely conducted public procurement, and in 2022 we were ready to start in the spring, only the war in Ukraine came, the circuit of building materials was affected, especially in what concerns pipelines,” Nikushor Dan noted.
“There’s a measure of how much water you’re losing. Gabriela Firea left somewhere between 28-30 percent and reached 37 percent. In 2022, we will see that we still do not have a balance sheet. It did not increase in 2021. So winter 2021-2022 was slightly better than winter 2020-2021. And this winter was much better,” the mayor also noted.
When asked what the next winter will be like in Bucharest, the mayor assured that it will be “much better”.
“It will be better, much better, because these projects financed by European funds are also leaving. So, unlike last year, when we had about five large construction sites, this year we will have about 12 large construction sites,” said Nikusor Dan. (News.ro)
