
The police arrested two smugglers who were smuggling immigrants in the Evros area and in Asprovalta, Thessaloniki.
Police Special Response Teams of the Alexandroupolis Police Department detained a foreign driver of a car on the Dadia-Loutron-Evros provincial road who was illegally transporting immigrants to remote areas.
The driver, who was found not to have a driver’s license, initially disobeyed a police “stop” sign and accelerated in dangerous maneuvers that caused the car to go off the road and eventually come to a halt.
An 18-year-old man was arrested at dawn on Egnatia Odos by police officers of the Immigration Administration Department of the Aliens Office in Thessaloniki for smuggling immigrants.
When checking the car of an 18-year-old foreigner at the toll booth in Asprovalta, it was found that there were three of his compatriots on board who did not have travel documents.
