Carlos Alcaraz blames the setback on injuries

Carlos said he was “100% recovered” from his latest hip injury and said the problems were due to bad luck and a busy schedule.

“I don’t worry about all these injuries. I’d say that’s unfortunate. I do the right thing off the field. I think they are doing a great job. I’m just unlucky sometimes.

Playing for many days in a row like I did, 15 days in a row, without days off, is very difficult. Of course I’ll learn this lesson and take a few days off during the year and stay injury free, but I’m not worried about it.

I have to be patient. I am lucky to have a very good team behind me. I also have a very good physical therapist, so I manage to recover well from the injury.

I am very confident in myself. I think I’m playing really well now. I think I am a very good tennis player. I’m going to move on” – Carlos Alcarazquoted by UbiTennis.

The Iberian can return to the first place in the ATP hierarchy only if he wins the Californian tournament.

The 2022 US Open champion, Carlos climbed to the top of the world rankings at just 19 years old.

In November, Alcaraz was forced to retire in the quarterfinals of the Paris Masters tournament after tearing the internal oblique muscle of the left abdominal wall. This injury forced the Iberian to withdraw from the 2022 Tournament of Champions.

Then, during the preparation for the new season, the 19-year-old player injured the semimembranous muscle of his right leg and announced his defeat at the Australian Open-2023.

Alcaraz’s latest injury, which forced him to withdraw from the tournament in Acapulco, is a grade 1 tear in his right hip.

This season, the Spaniard has 8 wins and a loss, this year he conquered the clay tournament in Buenos Aires.

In Indian Wells, Carlos is seeded number one and will play in the second round against Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis (94 ATP).

Indian Wells will be held from March 6-19 on hard and 96 players have started in the two main draws. The contest offers $8,800,000 each for men and women. Titled champions – Taylor Fritz and Iga Svyatek.
