The family drama was revealed the day before yesterday on Wednesday (8/3) when a 38-year-old woman was admitted to the Larisa University Hospital with doctors who diagnosed childbirth and EL.AS. find a dead newborn buried in the countryside.
According to the Eleftheria newspaper, a 38-year-old woman who is allegedly unaware of her pregnancy was first taken to a polyclinic after severe pain and then urgently hospitalized at the Larisa University Hospital.
Doctors in the emergency department of PPGNL determined that the bleeding was parturition and decided to admit her to the intensive care unit, where she remains hospitalized in serious condition.
The police officers of Larisa’s sub-department of protection, investigating the case, confirmed the doctors’ diagnosis that she had given birth earlier, as it turned out later, on the initiative of the relatives of the 38-year-old woman, they began burying the newborn, who, according to EL.AS., was born dead.
By order of the public prosecutor, officers from the Sub-Department of Security went to the rural area of the prefecture, where the relatives of the 38-year-old woman buried the baby, and at noon on Thursday (9/3) they proceeded with the exhumation. According to the information, relatives unambiguously note that the newborn was stillborn, and the 38-year-old woman, during the examination by doctors, claimed that she was unaware of her pregnancy.
As part of the investigation of the case, the sub-department of security appointed a forensic medical examination to determine the cause of the death of the baby, and statements from relatives are also expected, in order, among other things, to answer the question of why they began to secretly bury the newborn.
