The alleged leader of Tiraspol, Vadym Krasnoselsky, appeared on television Thursday night to reveal the details of an allegedly foiled terrorist attack in the Transnistrian region, which he blamed on Ukrainian intelligence services. In response from Kyiv, Mykhailo Podoliak, an adviser to President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, warned that Russia will not stop trying to destabilize the situation in the Republic of Moldova, reports the Chisinau press, cited by News.ro.

Vadym Krasnoselsky’s address to the population lasted 6 minutes, and the broadcast took place after a “documentary” about the allegedly foiled terrorist attack. Krasnoselsky called for calm and urged local residents not to treat Ukrainian refugees with hatred, although he said some of those planning the alleged attack were posing as refugees.

He also announced that the UN Security Council, OSCE and partners from the “5+2” negotiating format will be informed, but in his address, Krasnoselsky did not mention anything about “partners of the region from Russia”, NewsMaker notes.

Vadym Krasnoselsky noted that the attack was organized in such a way that not only the leaders of the Tiraspol administration, but also ordinary citizens would die. The car would explode in a community located near the school.

“It was aimed not only at the removal of high-ranking officials, but at the mass death of people. In addition, the relevant persons carried out video surveillance of persons who held responsible positions. (…) A car containing about 8 kg of hexane was seized in Bendery. Some suspects were also detained. All of them are connected to the SBU and are citizens of this country,” Krasnoselskyi said.

He stated that he asked the person responsible for “external relations” to prepare a statement that he would send to international institutions: “We will appeal to the members of the UN Security Council, we have a “5+2″ format, other structures, including the OSCE, which we we will ask to shed light on the situation and ensure our safety,” said the so-called Transnistrian leader.

Podolyak: Russian propagandists in Transnistria overdue “Golden Raspberry”

Kyiv rejected the accusations of the unrecognized authorities in Tiraspol and warned of a “Kremlin scenario”.

“Russia will not stop trying to destabilize the situation in the Republic of Moldova,” said Mykhailo Podolyak, advisor to President Volodymyr Zelenskyi. He explained that with the help of propaganda they aim to “intimidate the population”.

“If Russian propagandists from Transnistria wanted to nominate themselves for the Golden Raspberry award, they definitely missed the deadline for nominations. However, no matter how ridiculous the reports about “reports” revealing “Ukrainian terrorist attacks” are, the conclusion is obvious: Russia will not stop trying to destabilize the situation in Moldova,” Podoliak said on Instagram, TV8.md reports.

He emphasized that he also wants Ukraine to be perceived negatively. “The main direction is to intimidate the local population with the threat of hostilities and negatively present Ukraine as a potential source of danger,” the official said.

The reaction of the Chisinau authorities

The authorities of the Republic of Moldova said that they have no confirmation about the alleged attack on the left bank of the Dniester.

“We have no confirmation, it is important that the Republic of Moldova is in a stable situation, peace, stability in the region, and the Bureau of Reintegration managed to align the left bank of the Dniester with our goal of peace and stability. There is no threat of escalation, no problems in this area. The government is concerned to ensure stability, to ensure peace, to face the challenges that still exist. I urge everyone to work at work, to focus on what they have to do,” Prime Minister Dorin Recan said on Thursday, as quoted by Radio Moldova.

In turn, the SBU noted that any statements by representatives of the so-called authorities of Transnistria regarding the SBU’s participation in the preparation of the terrorist attack should be considered a provocation organized by the Kremlin.

“Any statements by representatives of the so-called Ministry of Security of the fake DPR regarding the participation of the SBU in the preparation of a terrorist attack should be regarded exclusively as a provocation organized by the Kremlin. Therefore, the Security Service of Ukraine urges not to take seriously the nonsense, the spread of which reveals the clear goal of Russia – to undermine the situation in the territory actually occupied and controlled by it, accusing our state of this,” the message reads.
