A 57-year-old foreigner was arrested at the Athens International Airport on Monday afternoon (03.06) by the Organized Crime and Human Trafficking Directorate of the Attica Security Directorate, in cooperation with the security department of the Athens Airport Police Directorate. Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”, as it facilitated the departure of four foreigners from our country, who were also arrested.

According to the Ministry of Citizens’ Protection, “a criminal case was initiated against them for offenses related to possession of a genuine travel document by a third party, attempt and illegal entry and exit into the country, reception and distribution. proceeds of crime by facilitating the entry of Greek nationals into the territory of third countries, as well as professionally and permanently facilitating the exit of third-country nationals from the territory of Greece for profit.”

This was preceded by a police investigation, which revealed that a 57-year-old man, often traveling from abroad to our country, actively facilitates the exit of foreigners by providing them with stolen travel documents and assisting them throughout the trip. process.

In this regard, a police operation was organized, during which a 57-year-old man was seen on Monday afternoon (03.06) in the center of Athens, escorting four foreigners to the Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”, whom he photographed. , when assisting in the boarding process, when providing them with genuine third-party travel documents that they pretended to be (the “similar” method).

The arrests were made shortly before boarding the plane, and during the search, the following were found and seized:

• 4 original travel documents of third parties, 2 of which are reported as stolen – lost,
• number of sim cards
• telephone Devices,
• air ticket stubs and
• hotel reservations for the night.

The detainees, against whom a criminal case has been initiated, were taken to the competent prosecutor’s office.
