The Security Service of Ukraine reacted to the fact that the authorities in Tiraspol accused Kyiv of involvement in the assassination attempt on the leader of the separatist Transnistria, saying that it was organized by Russia. The authorities of Moldova announced that they are “investigating” the alleged terrorist attack.

  • “Any statements by the representatives of the so-called “Minister of State Security” of the fake “Dniester Moldavian Republic” regarding the involvement of the Security Service of Ukraine in the preparation of a terrorist attack must be regarded exclusively as a provocation organized by the Kremlin.
  • Therefore, the Security Service of Ukraine urges you not to take seriously the nonsense that is being spread and which indicates Russia’s clear goal to inflame the situation in the territory actually occupied and controlled by it, accusing our state of this.
  • Lies and provocations are one of the weapons actively used by the Russian Federation. But today the whole world sees the true face of the aggressor country and does not believe the statements of either Russia or its satellites,” says the SBU’s reaction to the accusations from Tiraspol.

Prutu’s reintegration policy office says national authorities are “investigating information” about the alleged attack, which pro-Russian separatists say they prevented.

“Competent national authorities are verifying information about an alleged “terrorist attack” in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova. Competent authorities will return with details. We appeal to the public to receive information from the official sources of our country,” the Chisinau Reintegration Policy Office said in a statement, as quoted by Ziarul de Gardă.

Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recan said he had “no confirmation” and that he was ready “to respond to any challenge,” AFP reports. Photo: Dreamstime.com.
