
Several strikes were carried out in the districts of Kharkiv and Odesa, in the east and south of Ukraine, local officials said on Thursday, as quoted by AFP.
“The enemy has struck more than 15 strikes on the city and region” of Kharkiv, Oleg Synegubov, the governor of the region, reported on social media.
In the Odesa region, Governor Maksym Martsenko reported that “missiles hit the region’s energy infrastructure facilities and damaged residential buildings,” speaking of a “massive missile strike.”
Other attacks were recorded in the center of the Dnipro and in regions throughout the country.
Kyiv Independent reports that explosions were heard in several cities and regions, but is awaiting confirmation from local officials.
The newspaper named the cities and regions of Kyiv, Poltava, Lviv, Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Odesa, Kirovohrad, and Dnipropetrovsk among those where the explosions occurred.
“According to the first information, a private residential building was damaged in the Kharkiv region,” Sinegubov added, announcing “clear” details about possible victims and the amount of damage.
In Kharkiv, the main city of the region, Mayor Igor Terekhov said that the “energy infrastructure” was under attack, and in some parts of the city there were “problems” with electricity.
Air defense was operating in the Kyiv region, reports the local military administration.
In the event, the governor of the Khmelnytskyi region, Segii Gamalii, called on residents to “stay in shelters” because “the enemy is attacking the main infrastructure in the country.”
“Fortunately, there were no casualties,” he said, adding that “power supply restrictions” had been introduced.
