“In 2014, my Zazu became the first victim of sanctions against me, my family and my team. This first terrible blow of the democratic West was taken by a thoroughbred stallion. Just think about adding a horse to the sanctions list…” he complained in his Telegram channel.

Then the leader of Chechnya said that Zaza was stolen by unknown persons from the kennel in the Czech Republic, where he was located. Both the European Union and the United States imposed sanctions on Kadyrov in 2014 over his support for the illegal annexation of Crimea.

“How is this possible? He was kept on a remote farm so that he could be taken away so easily? Where are the guards? Where are the valiant police with advanced and democratically effective investigative methods?” Ramzan Kadyrov complained on Wednesday, adding that in Chechnya “you can leave the car unlocked at night” so that it would not be stolen.

— And, by the way, please do not underestimate the value of my horse. The press, according to the authorities, announced its price at $18,000. Probably, this artificial understatement is connected with the financial machinations of those who are responsible for its maintenance and care, only purebred Zazu is worth at least 10 million dollars,” the head of Chechnya explained.

“Now, knowing its real price, someone is rubbing their hands together,” he complained, adding that he does not believe in coincidences.

“Horse thieves are somewhat unique: stupid enough to steal a licensed horse and cunning enough to prevent the police from finding them. I do not believe. It is a pity that a beautiful and noble animal is suffering. I am worried that Zazu may fall into the wrong hands,” Ramzan Kadyrov concluded his message.
