The video documentary was shown by Mega TV a few minutes before the fatal accident in Tempi.

The video was filmed by a commuter train surveillance camera to Larissa. This particular train left before the fateful Intercity arrived from Athens.

The commuter train driver asks Larisa, the head of the station, several times why he gave him the command to back up.

At 22:48 on February 28, the train driver asks: “Larisa, the head of 2597 is talking to you. Why are we in reverse?”

The commuter train driver does not receive an answer and asks again: “Larisa, the head of 2597 is talking to you. Why are we backing up?” To update my service.”

The train is located near the fatal key 118.

The train was bound for Larissa and the stationmaster reportedly asked the driver to wait. This was followed by the fateful Intercity in Thessaloniki.

The commuter train driver asked again: The head of the Larisa station can inform the duty officer 2597 about the reverse process.

At this point, the 59-year-old stationmaster’s response can be heard: “He blinked the key,” meaning that he discovered a problem with the fatal key.
