The Grevena police have begun investigating a total of 40 thefts – break-ins and attempted thefts – at holy temples, storage houses, public transport vehicles, a medical service shop and a cultural association building. Six people were detained in the case: three 22-year-olds, two 19-year-olds (a man and a woman) and a minor.

According to a multi-month investigation, from October 2021 to December 2022, the attackers used the same technique to break into doors or cabinets or, depending on the circumstances, places where money and other valuables were stored, and after seizing them, got into their cars and moved away from the points .

In more detail, 29 thefts and break-ins or attempts were committed in churches, five in storage houses, three in public cars, one in a medical interest shop in Greven and two in a cultural association building in the Kozani district. The total value of the stolen goods, money and damages is at least 8,275 euros.

Following the issuance of issued arrest warrants, an operation was organized by members of the Grevena Security Department and the Anti-Crime Unit (OPKE) of the Grevena Police Department, during which six citizens were located and arrested.

During searches conducted on their premises, various burglary tools, one revolver, three air guns, including two rifles and one pistol, cartridges, five knives, six crossbow arrows, one bayonet case, mobile phones were found and seized. , money and gold. .

The preliminary investigation continues for possible involvement of the perpetrators in other similar criminal acts, and the detainees have been brought to the investigator.
