The tourist season on the beautiful island of Andros will open on March 9 with the Andros of Waters and Tastes conference.

The organizer is Andros Cyclades Tourism Network and the conference is held under the auspices of Andros Municipality. Among the speakers will be representatives of the political and business life of the island and the Cyclades in general.

CTN Andros is made up of a network of businesses that operate on the beautiful island of Cyclades in the hospitality, catering and events sectors and aim to develop tourism on the island. The conference will develop the central goal of CTN Andros, which is to promote Andros as one of the leading tourist destinations in Greece, and the actions through which this can be achieved.

The pillars on which the tourism product of Andros is based are the worship of nature, activity, authenticity, gastronomy and the organized business network (CTN Andros). In this regard, the organizers invited the famous Greek-American chef Nicholas Poulmentis to the island of Cyclades, who, inspired by local products and accompanied by chefs from Andros, will create a series
from recipes based on Andriot raw materials. The event will also feature Aris Sklavenitis, recently named the Best Sommelier in Greece for the third time.

Andros, as Andreas Empirikos said, is “a place in bloom”: “The sun is shining. The air smells of orange and lemon flowers.” With 374 km 2 surrounded by the deep blue of the Aegean Sea, with impressive nature trails, with the waterfalls of Pythara, which belong to the magical land of fairy tales, its beautiful villages and with a history that, as evidenced by the finds, reaches back to prehistory and the archaic era, Andros could become a tourist destination for more than six months of the year.

With this in mind, CTN is organizing an “Andros of Waters and Flavors” Day at the Cairo Library on March 9 to represent the Andros of all time. This is the first in a series of seminars dedicated to the island and its activities.
