A spectacular men’s chronograph becomes a mechanical wrist toy from Hamilton. This is a new chapter in the Jazzmaster Face 2 Face series, which is based on the concept of a rotating case, allowing the wearer to admire both the front and the back. It is obvious that a high level of knowledge is required to implement such a complex project. Hamilton fans will surely remember the first reversible Jazzmaster Face 2 Face, released in 2013. It was a classic and avant-garde watch that combined two different personalities. Now the Swiss company presents its third version of the Jazzmaster Face 2 Face III, which is a collector’s edition of 999 pieces.
Its round rotating steel case with a diameter of 44 mm and a thickness of 17.25 mm has two dials: on the front there are time and chronograph functions.
The movement is shown at the back, as well as two measuring scales: tachymetric and sphygmometric.
The complex architecture of the main dial on several levels also heralds the watch’s mechanical excellence. The hours, minutes and seconds run as usual in the center, and at 6, 9 and 12 o’clock there are three sub-dials for chronograph functions: at 6 is the chronograph hour counter and has a bright blue sunburst finish. cobalt (the same color is used for the central second hand). At 9 o’clock, there are small running seconds on a dark charcoal gray dial with various embossed decorative textures. And at around 12 there is a minute counter in matte black, like the main part of the dial. In the background, at a lower level, large sections of the rotating date disc are visible, with the corresponding double day and date indicator prevailing at position 3.
As mentioned above, by rotating the case, you can admire through the transparent sapphire crystal the automatic chronograph movement H-41, which is based on the Valjoux 7750 movement and provides 60 hours of battery life. The back of the watch is decidedly more minimalistic in appearance, with an emphasis on the rotor that rotates with the movement of the hand, while on the periphery you can see the speedometer and heart rate monitor in two concentric circles in silver and blue, respectively.
Unconventional yet classic, the Jazzmaster Face-2-Face III wraps around the wrist with a brown patina leather strap with bold cobalt stitching for a fresh, modern look. Undoubtedly, with its intricate dial structure, double-sided rotating case, and overall impressive appearance, the Jazzmaster Face 2 Face III is the watch to be talked about. Its price is 2995 euros.
