Information published by The Times newspaper said that Johnson had recommended up to 100 people for promotion. His predecessors Theresa May and David Cameron nominated around 60 people each.

The Times did not say what justification the former prime minister gave for including his father in the honors list. A spokesman for Boris Johnson declined to comment on the report.

Stanley Johnson is a former member of the European Parliament, a writer and a frequent guest on British television.

All British leaders have the right to draw up such a list, which confers peerages and other honours. However, their successor, in this case Rishi Sunak, has the ability to block the nominations.

Boris Johnson was also accused of having a crush on his brother

“Obviously it’s within the former prime minister’s prerogative to make such appointments, but we’ll see if that information is true or not,” said British Science Secretary Michelle Donelan, the first member of Sunak’s cabinet to comment. on the news

Donelan also said that the government now has other problems besides dealing with this situation.

In 2020, Johnson nominated his brother Joe for a seat in the House of Lords, the upper house of the British legislature, where he received a life term.

Boris Johnson resigned as prime minister last July after several scandals rocked his cabinet and shook the confidence of Tory MPs.
