27-year-old Kosmin Achim is not going through the best period of his football career.

The defender, who has also featured for the U19 and U21 national teams, recently signed for Petrolul Ploiesti but is currently free of contract.

“FC Petrolul Ploiesti and the player Cosmin Achim (27 years old) reached an agreement on the termination of contractual relations, the central defender is the one who, due to personal problems, asked to terminate the obligations concluded with our club.

In particular, the Romanian football player is at the center of an investigation conducted by the Romanian Football Federation on the grounds that he repeatedly violated the provisions on the prohibition of betting.

According to Orange Sport, he was convicted by a former partner of the Professional Football League and the FRF, a case similar to that of Mihai Voduc.

The source mentions that Achim would bet 8-9 thousand lei on games in the first division, some of which were Petrol matches.
