The criminal organization was dismantled by the Extortion Investigation Department of the Attica Security Authority, which demanded extortionate sums of 100,000 euros from the owner of a clothing store in Agia Varvara through threats.
According to EL.AS, during a special operation on Thursday in the village of Agia Varvara, 43-year-old and 38-year-old men were detained, who are accused of creating a gang, attempted extortion, damaging foreign property and violating weapons laws.
At the same time, the leader of the gang, a 46-year-old Albanian in prison, and two more people who are wanted appear in the case file. It is noted that members of the criminal organization hired EL.AS. and for the murders.
The defendants, as established by the police investigation, recently demanded the owner of the store to pay them the amount of 100,000 euros, while in order to achieve their goal, they threatened the life of both him and his family members.
In an attempt to “convince” him of their intentions, the defendants, on the orders of the 46-year-old prisoner, obtained the appropriate weapons and shot once at the owner’s car when it was parked at his house.
As a result of searches carried out in the houses and in the prison cell, 2 mobile phones were found and confiscated, as well as belonging to a weapon.
The detainees, together with the case materials, were taken to the prosecutor and handed over to the investigator.
