The prosecutor’s office ordered an urgent preliminary investigation Hairto investigate the case of molestation of a 12-year-old elementary school student in the wider Almiros area by her 50-year-old uncle.

The case became known thanks to a social worker who monitors schoolchildren from disadvantaged families. The prosecutor’s office was informed about this last Thursday.

This was followed by a forensic medical examination and examination of the child by a child psychologist. According to ERT, the examination showed that the 12-year-old girl was not raped, but there are serious signs of ongoing neglect.

At the same time, an order was issued for a social investigation of the student’s family environment.

The alleged perpetrator, the child’s uncle, who is also the father, is expected to be called to testify in the coming days.

Upon completion of the testimony, and with the full details of the case file in hand, the Prosecutor is expected to make a decision on prosecution.
