President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi met with high-ranking government officials of the Netherlands and Estonia in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv on Friday, his office said in a statement, CNN reports.

Zelensky expressed gratitude for the “significant defense, financial, energy and legal support” provided by the two countries since the beginning of the Russian invasion, his office said.

The Netherlands: During a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Wopke Hoekstra, Zelensky presented the situation on the front line and the needs of the Ukrainian military. He emphasized the need for more and faster help from partners, the report says.

Zelenskyi also said that he was grateful to the Dutch government for the decision to create an international center in the Hague to investigate Russian crimes against Ukraine.

Zelenskyi also outlined Kyiv’s hopes for the NATO summit in Vilnius (Lithuania) in 2023 and negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU “by the end of the year,” the report said.

Estonia: Speaking with Urmas Reinsalu, Estonia’s foreign minister, Zelenskyi said that “bringing to justice all those guilty of war crimes, crimes against humanity and the genocide of the Ukrainian people is a fundamental matter for our country” and a key component of Ukraine’s proposed peace formula , the statement said.

Zelensky noted “significant defense and humanitarian aid” to Estonia, his office said.

“Ukraine especially appreciates the medical and rehabilitation assistance to our wounded, the training of the Ukrainian army, as well as the support of Ukrainians who left for Estonia because of the war,” Zelenskyi said.

“The parties emphasized the importance of further strengthening the sanctions pressure on Russia,” Zelenskyi’s office added.
