Due to the constant development of FCSB’s attack, Andrea Compagno has been included in the preliminary list of players selected for the Italian national team.

With 16 goals scored in the current league season, Andrea Compagno has made Roberto Mancini’s short-list.

In March, the European champions will face England (March 23) and Malta (March 26) in the EURO 2024 qualifiers.

This was stated by FCSB General Director Mihai Stoyka.

“I rarely get emotional, luckily I wrote what I wanted to say. We have a player of the European national champion, Compagno in the Italian national team. Andrea has a diligence that I have rarely seen.

Argăseălă called me and said: Have you checked your e-mail? Compaño was called up to the national team! I said he had fun with me. The first time I thought about his nationality was that he was not Romanian. We didn’t have a single player called up to the national team at this level.” – he said, reports Orange Sport.

Compagno was the Italian player with the most goals in 2022, ahead of Ciro Immobile (Lazio) or Gianluca Scamakka (West Ham United).

The FKSHB striker scored twice in the last match of the championship against Petrolul Ploiesti (4:1).
