Over the past year, the Metropolitan City Hall has almost tripled the number of parking spaces in the central part, Deputy Mayor Stelian Buyduveanu announced on his Facebook page. So, if in March 2022 the municipality managed 10,426 parking spaces, now it has 28,185.

In fact, it is not about new parking spaces, but the city hall began to put things in order in the public area and draw parking spaces where you could park for free before, on the side or half on the sidewalk, half on the street. a road that no longer exists in any civilized European capital. Everywhere in the city center parking is charged to discourage car use.

“Today, the Bucharest Municipal Parking Company is installing new parking spaces on Dumbrava Roșie, Calea Plevnei, Unirii Blvd and Nerva Traian streets. Depending on the weather, CMPB crews will also be working over the weekend, creating a total of 466 new public parking spaces. In March 2022, the capital city hall operated 10,426 parking spaces through the TsMPB. In one year, we have almost tripled the number of public parking spaces. Today, the municipality manages 28,185 places marked in blue,” Buyduvianu wrote on his Facebook page.

The deputy mayor says that during 2023-2024, he will arrange about 85,000 new parking spaces on the central ring road.

Last summer, Bouzduvianu said that by the end of this mandate, there would not be a single free parking space in the central part.
