FC Barcelona scored a narrow victory in the first semi-final match of the Spanish Cup, beating Real Madrid 1:0 at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Karim Benzema managed to score in the 12th minute, but this shot was ruled out for offside.

In the 26th minute, the Catalans opened the scoring after an own goal by Militao, who converted the ball deflected by Courtois into the goal by Cassie.

The second half was spent in counterattacks, Madrid tried to equalize the score, but could not beat Ter Stegen.

In the other semi-final, Osasuna beat Athletic Bilbao 1-0.

The second leg will take place on April 5, while Real Madrid and Barcelona will meet on March 19 in La Liga.

Barcelona hold the Copa del Rey record with 31 trophies, while Real Madrid have just 19.
