The magazine of the Russian Ministry of Defense reports that Moscow is developing a new type of military strategy that involves the use of nuclear weapons to defend against possible US aggression, the RIA news agency reported on Thursday, Reuters reports.

This article is the latest in a series of aggressive positions by Russian politicians and analysts on this issue and shows that Moscow is ready, if necessary, to use its huge nuclear arsenal.

In an article published in the magazine “Военная мысл”, the RIA concluded that Washington is worried that it may lose world domination, and therefore “seems” to have prepared plans to strike Russia with the aim of neutralization.

In response, Russian experts are “actively developing a promising form of strategic use of Russia’s armed forces – an operation of strategic deterrence forces,” reports RIA.

This, the quoted source continued, “envisages the use of modern strategic weapons, offensive and defensive, nuclear and non-nuclear, taking into account the latest military technologies.”

Moscow, the article says, must be able to show the United States that it cannot paralyze Russia’s nuclear missile system and that it cannot strike back.

Russian President Vladimir Putin last week suspended the landmark nuclear arms control treaty, announced the transition of new strategic systems to combat mode and threatened to resume nuclear tests.

Although Moscow says it will use nuclear weapons only if Russia’s territorial integrity is threatened, Putin’s men regularly suggest that disaster may be imminent.

Former Russian President Dmytro Medvedev said this week that the continued supply of weapons to Kyiv by the West risks causing a global catastrophe, repeating the threat of nuclear war against Ukraine.
