The Liturgy Workers’ Union went on strike on Thursday (2/3) from 6:00 am to 12:00 pm. Athens Metro.
“Our association mourns with the whole society the tragic fatal accident on the Greek railways.
Dozens of our brethren have died and just as many have suffered on the altar of private gain and the indifference of those who lead them.
Our union has been complaining for years about a huge shortage of materials, spare parts, maintenance consumables and a huge shortage of personnel in all specialties of operation and maintenance, which forces the existing staff to work in a grueling mode with all the ensuing consequences.
Our problems are shared with the OSE, and those who do not recognize this are simply blind.
For all the above reasons, I wanted the fatal accident to be the last.
We express our indignation and declare a STRIKE from 06:00 in the morning until 24:00 at night on Thursday 02/03/2023.
