“The Republic of Moldova is really close to this war. On the other hand, we must understand that there is a difference between the danger of military escalation and attempts at destabilization. There is no danger of military escalation in the Republic of Moldova. , which is very important to understand and appreciate, and the risk of destabilization was more present, including in the fall. Now we have seen this story before, we were challenged for a long time, at the same time the authorities in Chisinau learned to ensure order, to ensure stability, to ensure peace in the Republic of Moldova,” emphasized the new Prime Minister of Chisinau Dorin Recan at the beginning of the interview with TVR1.

“The institutions of the Republic of Moldova have the capacity to manage, on the one hand, the need of the people to protest, but there are fewer of them, on the other hand, there are, as I said, pro-Russian groups and criminal groups that are trying to destabilize, and the authorities have a firm hand to stop any – what destabilization attempts,” Rechan emphasized, referring to the recently registered protests.

He asserts that the Republic of Moldova has sufficient consolidated capabilities to deal with a possible escalation in Transnistria, and appreciates that the people of Transnistria are “very, very united because that’s what we’ve done, we’ve aligned them to our goal of peace and security in the region”.

Russia is doing nothing but aggressively fomenting what is now called a hybrid war – putting in a lot of propaganda, disinformation, reinforcing certain pro-war narratives or certain narratives that will cause discord in society, and not just in the Republic. Moldova, but also in other parts of the European Union and even in other parts of the world. I am sure that it will not succeed,” explained the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova (in full on TVR 1).
