Ukrainian athletes will prepare for the 2024 Olympics in Germany

German Sports Minister Nancy Faser said Germany stands in solidarity with Ukraine after the “terrible Russian aggression that hit Ukrainian sports hard,” News.ro reported.

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, about 220 Ukrainian athletes and coaches have been killed, and 320 sports bases have been partially or completely destroyed.

“We want to make our contribution, to help Ukrainian athletes in training. We will allow high-level Ukrainian sportsmen and women to train in Germany for international competitions,” explained Nancy Fazer.

Thus, “Olympiastützpunkten”, regional Olympic training centers in Germany, will be available to Ukrainians to prepare for next year’s competitions.

In 2021, in Tokyo, Ukraine won 19 Olympic medals and 98 Paralympic medals.
